RDA Software
Radar Data Acquisition
The
Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) is a real-time Windows 2000 based
data collection software application designed for IRIS GPR systems. The
versatility of the RDA software completely eliminates the need for
external display devices and allows viewing of digitized radar signals
during the radar system setup and while collecting up to 6 simultaneous
channels of GPR data in the field. Data acquisition parameters are
software programmable and permit the adjustment of the signal sampling
rate, sampling time and the number of radar data channels to be digitized.
The RDA software acquires and stores GPR data in real-time to the ACPRO
data acquisition system hard disk in user defined data files. Data
acquisition is continuous and virtually unlimited in distance. The
software control panel and properties functions have numerous features for
adjustment of display settings, including signal gain, DC offset and
timebase. Also included in the RDA module are calibration functions for
GPR time base and distance measuring instrument (DMI), and utilities for
acquiring free space and flat metal plate signals for use in data
analysis. In addition, real-time signal enhancement functions, such as
Penetradar’s patented "Clutter Cancellation", random noise
suppression, surface decorrelation, signal filtering and echo alignment,
can be selected to improve overall signal quality. A real-time layer
thickness measurement function is also included for analysis of individual
waveforms or for back calculation of dielectric constant. Voltage and time
cursors can be utilized for measurement of signal peak-to-peak voltage or
the time difference between two signals of interest. An event marking
feature is also provided to allow the user to designate different events
or log locations of interest during data collection. The marked events,
saved in a text file, are also time stamped and tagged with the DMI
readings for later use.
